![]() We're only just starting to see good tower defense games (and other games integrated TD mechanics into their own games of other genres). There's still a lot more room for the genre to improve and expand. I'd like to say I made really good quality, popular maps for war3, but the fact is I never did anything terribly notable, and certainly nothing great like Element or Gem. I was actually there at the beginning when TDs really got going with war3, making maps, including some of the very first TDs, (having already been involved with defense maps a bit in Starcraft). I love TDs but I only play them on PC so my TD playing is limited to whatever exists there. ![]() I'll probably come back and add some more entries later. This was all off the top of my head pretty much. It's incredibly charming but just as incredibly terrible as a game. Skip the entire iBomber series unless you like really, really badly designed TDs. In this game, you are going to have levels. They're some of the most cynical, outright bad TDs ever made. Let us explain the format right now, so no problems will arise when you play the game. Really, really grindy, shallow, and dull. I wanted to like DQ going in but couldn't help but hate it. You can skip Defender's Quest (imo) but probably check it out anyway to see if you don't mind very simplistic math based TD with a really, really awful story and graphics that would have been insulting in 1990. After the victory over the dark magician Veznan was defeated, the unknown captures his mantle and escapes. I really loath them and uninstalled PVZ a long time ago (when they fired all the PVZ2 designers as soon as the game was finished) even though the game itself is decent, straightforward fun. The game is a direct sequel to Kingdom Rush. Cynically designed and shallow though, and the developer/publisher is. Maybe check out Plants vs Zombies if you like charming cartoon flash TD with a slow, grindy pace. I don't recommend it unless you are desperate for multiplayer coop TD. Kingdom Rush Frontiers is a whole new level of the furiously fast, enchantingly charming gameplay that made Kingdom Rush an award-winning Tower Defense hit. Sol Survivor is drab and boring (and badly designed). Super Sanctum TD is worth a look (but punishingly hard and agonizingly simplistic).
